Project for Death
Where do you go to celebrate one's life in time of death? This was a program designed to answer that question.
Light, circulation and divinity were my lenses on this Augusta based project.
This is the Project for Death. The main procession hallway (the Stairway to Heaven) leads to the gathering space and into the finally into the ceremonial room. The transition space in the layout of this project is the Stairway to Heaven and is one of the essence of this design. The natural light comes through the ceiling at a particular time of the day and illuminates the stairway. The reflected light of the glowing wall at the top of the stairs compliments the journey. Natural direct light guiding the visitors, reflected light, procession and divinity were the design lenses.
